Lillian Louise (Vanderpool) Croft

Lillian Louise (Vanderpool) Croft was called home by our heavenly father to rejoice with the angels on November 16, 2025, at the home of her daughter, Ann, on the family farm surrounded by her loved ones. Lillian was born in Wyalusing, PA on October 31, 1936, to Harold Vanderpool and Margaret (God) Vanderpool Hoover. She attended Wyalusing Schools. On January 30, 1954, she married Louis R. Croft Jr. and they celebrated 50 years of marriage in 2004 before he passed later that year. Together they ran the family farm until 1982 when Louis’ health declined. Then she ventured out and worked at the Bradford County Manor as a CNA from 1983 until 2001, when she retired to be a full-time caretaker of her husband, Louis. She was a woman whose quiet strength allowed her to face life’s challenges with grace, consistency, and a steady, unwavering presence. She showed deep faith and a deep love for her family. Her boundless love touched everyone who knew her. Lillian spent her days beside her husband on the family farm in Spring Lake, Pennsylvania. Together they rose before dawn, tended the fields and milked cows, all before enjoying a cup of coffee on the front porch. She helped Louis build a life rooted in hard work, faithfulness, and care for God’s creation. She instilled these acts of hard work and devotion into not only her children, but also her grandchildren and most recently her great-and great-great grandchildren, who she absolutely adored. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren knew her as a grandmother with open arms, a warm kitchen, and stories that always pointed them toward kindness and God. In later years, she always enjoyed trips to the casino and local bingo nights with her son and daughter. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Ann & Brad Delamater of 416 Croft Rd. Wyalusing, PA. Grandchildren: Jessica and her husband Eric Brigham of Laceyville, PA. Devin, and his wife Kassidy Delamater, who live on the family farm, Wyalusing, PA. Melissa and her husband Brad Chilson of Cadis, PA. Ronald and his wife Samatha Croft of Albion, NY. Great-grandchildren that called her Grandma Greenbean: Harlee and Rylee Brigham of Laceyville, PA. Addison (Reams) and Louis Delamater of Wyalusing, PA. William and his wife Laura Chilson of Sayre, PA. Destany Chilson of Cadis, PA. Ryan, Hanna, and Traper Croft all of Albion, NY. Great-great-grandchildren: Clayton and Koltin Chilson of Sayre, PA. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition, she is survived by the entire Delamater family, who always treated her as part of their family. She was predeceased by her parents. Her husband, Louis on May 11, 2004. Her son, Ronald (Rondo) Croft on August 1, 2018. An infant daughter, Linda, in 1954. Her brother, Gerald, and sister-in-law Marjorie (Pat) Vanderpool. Also, by her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Louis Sr and Isabelle Croft. In addition, she was predeceased by several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, and cousins. Most recently, she was mourning the loss of a very special cousin, Susan Lamphere, who passed away on June 26, 2025, with whom she enjoyed talking on the phone with every day. The family will receive family and friends on Friday, November 21, 2025, with visitation starting at noon and services to follow at 1 PM at the Maryott-Bowen Funeral Home 217 York Ave, Towanda, PA. Interment will follow in the Wyalusing Cemetery, Wyalusing, PA. Family will be hosting a meal and social gathering at her daughter’s home on the family farm following interment. In lieu of flowers, the family recommends contributions be directed in Lillian’s memory to the New Albany Volunteer Fire Company, where Lillian enjoyed playing bingo with her family and friends, in care of Mike Epler, PO Box 167, Main Street New Albany, PA 18833.
